Please read these Terms carefully. By accessing or using the Lumina IT Consulting platform, booking a session, registering as a consultant, or submitting any information to us, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use our platform.
Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "Client", "Consultant", or "Visitor") and Lumina IT Consulting Limited, a company incorporated under the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020 of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (RC No. 9340984, TIN: 2623273584232), with its principal place of business in Nigeria ("Lumina", "we", "us", "our").
By using this platform in any capacity — whether as a visitor, client booking a session, or consultant applying to join our network — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
These Terms apply to all users of the platform including clients, registered consultants, visitors browsing the site, and any party transacting with Lumina through this platform.
Services Description
Lumina IT Consulting Limited provides technology advisory and consulting services to businesses and organisations. Our platform facilitates:
- Consultation Sessions — One-on-one advisory sessions between clients and verified IT consultants covering strategy, cybersecurity, cloud architecture, data analytics, process automation, vendor selection, and related domains.
- Consultant Matching — Algorithmic and admin-assisted matching of clients to the most suitable consultant based on industry experience, skill profile, and availability.
- Platform Services — Booking management, secure communication, payment facilitation, and session documentation.
- Content — Educational articles, case studies, and IT insights published on our blog.
Lumina acts as a platform intermediary. The actual consulting advice is delivered by independent consultants approved by Lumina. Lumina does not guarantee specific business outcomes from any consulting engagement.
Eligibility
To use this platform you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age;
- Have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts in your jurisdiction;
- Not be a person or entity barred from receiving services under applicable Nigerian or international law;
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering.
For businesses booking on behalf of an organisation, the individual completing the booking confirms they have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
User Accounts
Account Creation
Booking a consultation session creates a client account using your email address. Consultant registration creates a separate consultant account pending approval. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
Accuracy of Information
You agree to provide truthful, accurate, and complete information. Lumina reserves the right to terminate any account found to contain false, misleading, or fraudulent information without notice or refund.
Account Security
You are solely responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at info@luminaitconsult.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account. Lumina will not be liable for losses resulting from unauthorised account use where you failed to safeguard your credentials.
Account Suspension and Termination
Lumina reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently delete any account at its sole discretion for violations of these Terms, suspected fraud, harmful conduct toward other users or the platform, or any conduct detrimental to Lumina's reputation or business interests.
Consultant Terms
Consultant Agreement: By submitting a consultant application and checking the acceptance box, you agree to all terms in this section in addition to the general Terms above. These terms are binding upon approval of your application.
Application and Approval
Consultant applications are reviewed at Lumina's sole discretion. Submission of an application does not guarantee approval. Lumina may request additional documentation, conduct verification checks, or reject applications without providing reasons.
Independent Contractor Status
Consultants on the Lumina platform are independent contractors, not employees, agents, or partners of Lumina. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment relationship. You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and compliance with applicable laws.
Quality of Service
Consultants agree to:
- Deliver consultations with professional competence, diligence, and good faith;
- Only accept assignments within their genuine area of expertise;
- Respond to assignment notifications promptly — typically within 24 hours;
- Keep all client information strictly confidential;
- Not solicit clients directly outside the Lumina platform for a period of 12 months after any engagement facilitated through Lumina.
Revenue Share
Consultants receive 80% of the session fee upon successful completion of a session. Lumina retains 20%, comprising a 5% administrative/tax handling fee and a 15% platform fee. Payment is credited to the consultant's wallet and can be withdrawn to a registered bank account. Lumina reserves the right to adjust the revenue split with 30 days' notice.
Conduct Standards
Consultants must not:
- Misrepresent their qualifications, experience, or credentials;
- Engage in discriminatory, harassing, or unprofessional conduct toward clients or Lumina staff;
- Provide advice that is knowingly harmful, illegal, or outside their competence;
- Share, resell, or use client information for any purpose other than fulfilling the engagement;
- Damage Lumina's reputation through public statements, social media, or other channels.
Disciplinary Actions
Violations of these standards may result in suspension, removal from the platform, withholding of pending wallet balance, and/or legal action, at Lumina's sole discretion. Lumina's decision on disciplinary matters is final.
Client Terms
Booking
By completing a booking form, you commit to completing payment within a reasonable timeframe (typically 48 hours). Bookings not paid within 72 hours may be cancelled at Lumina's discretion.
Use of Advice
Consulting advice provided through Lumina is for informational and advisory purposes only. You are solely responsible for decisions made based on advice received. Lumina and its consultants accept no liability for business outcomes resulting from implementation of advice.
Conduct in Sessions
Clients agree to engage in all sessions respectfully and professionally. Abusive, harassing, or threatening conduct toward consultants may result in immediate termination of the session and the client account, with no refund.
Confidentiality of Consultant Information
Client agrees not to solicit or engage Lumina consultants for direct work outside the platform for a period of 12 months following any session facilitated by Lumina.
Payments & Fees
Payment Method
All payments are currently processed via bank transfer to Lumina's designated account. Session details and bank information are provided upon booking confirmation.
Confirmation
Payment must be verified by Lumina before any session begins. Uploading a payment receipt does not automatically confirm payment — verification is conducted by Lumina's team, typically within 2–4 business hours.
Refund Policy
Refunds are subject to the following policy:
- Before session confirmation: Full refund if session has not been confirmed.
- 48+ hours before session: 80% refund (20% administration fee retained).
- Less than 48 hours before session: No refund, except in exceptional circumstances at Lumina's discretion.
- After session completion: No refund.
- Technical issues caused by Lumina: Full refund or reschedule at client's choice.
Refund requests must be submitted in writing to info@luminaitconsult.com within 7 days of the relevant session date.
Disputed Payments
Fraudulent chargebacks, false payment claims, or payment disputes filed in bad faith may result in account suspension and referral to relevant authorities.
Intellectual Property
All content on this platform — including but not limited to the platform design, source code, text, graphics, blog articles, case studies, logo, brand identity, and the "Lumina" name — is the exclusive property of Lumina IT Consulting Limited and is protected by applicable Nigerian and international intellectual property laws.
Visitors and users may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, or commercially exploit any content without prior written consent from Lumina.
Consultant-Generated Content
Deliverables, reports, and written advice produced specifically for a client engagement belong to the client upon full payment. General methodologies, frameworks, and approaches remain the intellectual property of the consultant or Lumina, as applicable.
Confidentiality
All parties — Lumina, consultants, and clients — agree to maintain strict confidentiality regarding:
- All information shared during or in connection with a consulting engagement;
- Any proprietary business information, strategies, data, or documentation disclosed;
- Personal data of any user of the platform.
This confidentiality obligation survives termination of these Terms or any engagement. Breach of confidentiality may result in legal action and claims for damages.
Conduct & Prohibited Use
You agree not to use this platform to:
- Engage in any fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading activity;
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform or other users' accounts;
- Upload malicious code, malware, or any content designed to disrupt the platform;
- Impersonate any person or entity;
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights;
- Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the platform without permission;
- Post or transmit spam, unsolicited messages, or promotional material;
- Engage in any activity that interferes with other users' enjoyment of the platform.
Lumina reserves the right to immediately suspend or terminate accounts engaged in prohibited conduct and to pursue civil and criminal remedies to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
Disclaimers
The platform and all services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose;
- Guarantees of uninterrupted, error-free, or secure platform operation;
- Warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of consulting advice;
- Guarantees of specific business outcomes from any engagement.
Lumina does not warrant that advice provided by consultants is legally or professionally certified in your specific jurisdiction. For matters requiring licensed professional advice (legal, medical, financial), please consult the appropriate licensed professionals.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lumina's total liability to any user for any claim arising from these Terms or use of the platform shall not exceed the total fees paid by that user to Lumina in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Lumina shall not be liable for any:
- Indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages;
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities;
- Damages arising from reliance on consulting advice;
- Service interruptions beyond Lumina's reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence, where such limitation is prohibited by law.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Lumina IT Consulting Limited, its directors, officers, employees, consultants, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the platform in violation of these Terms;
- Your negligent or wrongful conduct;
- Any false or misleading information you provided;
- Infringement of any third-party intellectual property or privacy rights.
Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. Lumina may terminate or suspend access immediately, without prior notice, if you breach any provision of these Terms.
Upon termination:
- Your right to access the platform ceases immediately;
- Outstanding session bookings may be cancelled with appropriate refunds where applicable;
- Consultant wallet balances will be settled after a verification period of up to 30 days;
- Provisions relating to intellectual property, confidentiality, indemnification, and limitation of liability survive termination.
Privacy Policy
Lumina IT Consulting Limited is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information you provide to us.
Data We Collect
- Identity Data: Name, email address, phone number, company name;
- Professional Data (Consultants): CV, credentials, expertise, work history, certifications;
- Transaction Data: Payment records, session history, bank account details (for consultants);
- Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device information, session cookies;
- Communication Data: Messages, booking forms, and support enquiries.
How We Use Your Data
- To create and manage your account;
- To process bookings and verify payments;
- To match clients with appropriate consultants;
- To send transactional emails (booking confirmations, payment notifications);
- To improve our services and platform;
- To comply with legal obligations;
- To prevent fraud and maintain platform security.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers in compliance with industry-standard security practices. We implement technical and organisational measures including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS);
- Password hashing using bcrypt;
- Role-based access controls limiting staff access to data;
- Regular security reviews and monitoring.
Despite these measures, no internet transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and are not liable for breaches resulting from circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active, or as required to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, or as required by applicable Nigerian law. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by writing to us at info@luminaitconsult.com.
Your Rights

Cookies
This platform uses essential session cookies required for authentication and security. We do not currently use third-party tracking or advertising cookies. Your continued use of the platform constitutes consent to our use of essential cookies.
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.
Before commencing legal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation for a minimum of 30 days. Lumina may also elect to resolve disputes through binding arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria, in accordance with applicable arbitration rules.
Changes to These Terms
Lumina reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance. For material changes, we will notify registered users by email.
